Seattle Sightseeing

Alpha Xi Delta holds National Convention every two years, and this year we are heading to Seattle! Our National Convention will include time for conducting national chapter business and provides an opportunity for interaction between alumnae and collegiate members. National Convention is many things, but most of all it is FUN! This is a fantastic opportunity to explore the emerald city with Sisters! Here are a few things on our sightseeing bucket list:

1. The Space Needle

It is hard to miss this one-of-a-kind Seattle landmark! Not only can you take in its beauty from anywhere in Seattle, but you can enter the Space Needle and take a 43-second elevator ride to the top! From the top of the landmark you can see Elliott Bay, the Cascade Mountains and Mount Rainier.

2. Pike Place Market

If you are an Instagrammer, this is the spot for you! With its iconic market sign and gum wall, there is no shortage of photo spots! Home to the original Starbucks, this market is filled with shops, sights and sounds.

3. Seattle Great Wheel

Take your sightseeing to new heights with the recently constructed Seattle Great Wheel! Located at the end of Pier 57, this landmark puts a new spin on Seattle views.

4. Chihuly Garden and Glass

This gorgeous museum is home to the work of Washington born, world-renowned glassblower Dale Chihuly. Dale mastered his art at the University of Washington and this museum is the largest collection of his work.

BONUS: Museum of Pop Culture

We just had to include our Sisterhood outing location: The Museum of Pop Culture (MoPop)! We are looking forward to learning all about Music, science fiction and pop culture at MoPop with our Sisters. The building looks like a smashed guitar from above, while the inside is filled with colorful exhibits that cover everything from the history of Jurassic Park and horror films to rock music, royal jewels and more.
