Norma's Story

Coming from a small, rural community and high school, it was a big change to move into Sacket Hall dorm. I was quite surprised at many of the girls I met. Rush was a good experience, and it was just natural to want to be a part of Alpha Xi Delta sorority because everyone was warm, welcoming, sincere and fun-loving. It was special to have a house mother. I have always liked being active, so being a House officer, a sophomore (Thane / Talent) honorary member, and working summers and part-time in the School of Science were all just part of my college experience.

A couple of the most interesting, fun times I had during my college days were going water skiing at Lake Woahink near Florence on the Coast, (receiving a beautiful homemade single ski) and going to Willamette Pass and snow shoeing in to open up a cabin at Lake Odell with some of my sorority Sisters and friends. It has been wonderful to continue friendships with my close Alpha Xi Delta sisters through our current adult life. For these things I am thankful.
