Alpha Xi Delta is currently accepting volunteer applications for Area Facilitators and the National Directors Network for the 2026-2028 volunteer biennium. Applications are due November 3, 2025.

The National Directors Network and Area Facilitator volunteer roles are appointed by National Council, and are appointed for a two-year volunteer term, beginning June 1, 2026 and continuing through May 31, 2028. Area Facilitators and the National Directors Network are included under the umbrella of Alpha Xi Delta’s National Council Designees.

Area Facilitator

Area Facilitators work with an assigned group of college chapters, specifically with appointing and training chapter advisory boards and focusing on advancing chapter benchmarks as identified by the National Fraternity. Area Facilitators also provide consistent monthly communication and information sharing with chapter leadership and advisory boards. Additionally, Area Facilitators collaborate with staff and volunteers to fulfill the strategic needs of the organization. 

National Directors Network

The National Directors Network (NDN) is made up of national volunteers with expertise in the following areas: Academics, C.A.R.E., Extension, Finance, Lifetime Engagement, Member Development, Philanthropy, Ritual, Recruitment. Each team has a National Director, Territory Directors and/or Specialists assist chapters and associations in realizing their potential.  

Each team within the National Directors Network meets regularly to ensure open communication is maintained and that progress is being made toward the team’s goals. Individual members of the team may have specific projects and/or constituents they work directly with, depending on the goals of the team.  

National Directors 

Each team is led by a National Director. In her role, she ensures that policies and procedures are followed, develops and maintains resources specific to her team, and builds relationships with her team, other National Directors and Alpha Xi Delta volunteers. She also guides her team in assisting membership with specific questions and needs, while also inspiring them to think strategically and creatively in their role.  

  • Time Commitment: 5 to 10 hours per month 
  • Suggested Experience Level*: At least two bienniums of prior Alpha Xi Delta volunteer experience, regardless of the volunteer role they held. 

Territory Directors and Specialists 

Territory Directors and Specialists within the National Directors Network serve as a resource for chapters, volunteers, and alumnae by providing guidance, support, and expertise in their specific areas of concentration. They focus on helping to develop and enhance programming and collaborate with other team members to strengthen the overall team goals.  

  • Time Commitment: 1 to 5 hours per month
  • Suggested Experience Level*: At least one biennium of prior Alpha Xi Delta volunteer experience, regardless of the volunteer role they held. 

*The suggested experience level assists in aligning expectations for the scope and responsibility of each volunteer role. It is not a requirement but can help the appointed volunteer be set up for success.   

Academic Team 

This team aims to inspire undergraduate members to realize their potential through effective academic programming. They research and identify academic programming needs of our members to create academic programming, training, and strategies to improve chapter academics. They serve as a resource on academic policies and goals.

C.A.R.E. Team 

This team assists in the education of Alpha Xi Delta’s Health and Safety Policies and guides the membership in maintaining and establishing good risk management practices. They also recommend resources and provide ongoing training on current risk management practices and successful initiatives.

Extension Team 

This team works to position Alpha Xi Delta as a top contender for every desired extension opportunity. They also help to ensure Alpha Xi Delta will be competitive on campuses where we are selected to establish a new chapter.

Finance Team 

This team is responsible for ensuring all college chapters remain compliant with the financial and reporting requirements. It also focuses on equipping each chapter with the necessary resources and support, while also promoting strong financial stewardship and operational efficiency across all chapters.

Lifetime Engagement Team 

This team works to perpetuate and promote lifetime engagement with Alpha Xi Delta and ensure all alumnae understand the many ways they can participate as Alpha Xi Delta alumnae. They also develop and support alumnae programming that is accessible and engaging all Sisters.

Member Development Team 

This team ensures that all member development programming is beneficial and relevant and helps to fulfill the mission and vision of the Fraternity. The team also provides support for college chapters to have a purposeful and positive new member orientation program.

Philanthropy Team 

This team works to advance Alpha Xi Delta’s philanthropic goals and efforts through the Kindly Hearts Initiative. They also cultivate strategic national philanthropic programming and initiatives. Resources, training and programming are also provided to college chapters, alumnae associations, and the general membership.

Recruitment Team 

This team focuses on overall organizational membership growth through strategic recruitment plans and efforts. The team serves as a resource for national and local recruitment training for our college chapters and assists with each campus recruitment process.

Ritual Team 

This team exemplifies the Ritual of Alpha Xi Delta by working to ensure our members have a broad understanding of Alpha Xi Delta Ritual and encouraging them to incorporate its teachings in their lives. They create, plan and facilitate Ritual programming and trainings for college chapters, alumnae associations, and national meetings.
