On Sunday, August 30, Alpha Xi Delta members, volunteers, and professional staff gathered to break ground on the chapter home at 480 S. Milledge Avenue on the University of Georgia campus.
Alpha Xi Delta is partnering with interior design firm Metal + Petal, led by co-founder and principal designer Jade Joyner, to design the interiors in collaboration with local architect David Matheny of AMT and Gunter Meade Construction. The project is expected to be complete in fall 2027.
The 12,000-square-foot main chapter home that sits on Milledge will hold the chapter room, dining room, study areas, and more. The vision for the new build balances the traditions of sorority life with the needs of today’s college women. Timeless, classic foundations will be layered with subtle Southern details, clean lines and a contemporary edge, while gathering spaces will be designed to support studying, chapter activities, friendships and everyday life. The apartment buildings behind the main chapter home serve as the living quarters for members.
