Statement Regarding House Fire at Marietta College

Published: November 10, 2021

In the evening of November 9, a fire broke out at the chapter home of the Beta Xi Chapter of Alpha Xi Delta at Marietta College. Thankfully, everyone is safe, and no injuries were reported. The fire did cause significant damage to the house and the cause is yet to be determined. We hope to learn more about the cause of the fire in the coming weeks. Alpha Xi Delta Fraternity, the chapter’s Local Building Corporation and Marietta College will be working together to assess the damage and determine next steps for the chapter.

We want to express a sincere thank you to all the first responders who were on the scene, as well as the Marietta community who quickly opened their doors to provide our members support, places to sleep and personal supplies to help them get through the night.

If you are interested in supporting Sisters, the best way is to donate to Marietta College's Pioneer Support Fund that assists students facing unforeseen, one-time emergency expenses that may disrupt their education. This Fund helps ensure that a student still has what he, she or they need to continue their coursework. You can donate here
