Alpha Xi Delta Foundation is pleased to announce Lydia Crouser, Texas Tech ’16, is the recipient of the 2017 Dorothy Dodd Grant and Ruby Mendez-Lopez, Nebraska at Kearney ’15, is the recipient of the 2017 Carol Cope Grant.

“Generous bequest gifts from loyal, dedicated alumnae are making these opportunities possible.  Their legacy is an important investment in developing courageous and ethical leaders for our Greek communities,” said Michelle Hartnett, Foundation Chair.

The Dorothy Dodd Grant is awarded to an Alpha Xi Delta Panhellenic delegate or Panhellenic officer on campus.  The grant honors the memory of Dorothy Clarkson Dodd, Michigan '53, and her service to Alpha Xi Delta and the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC). Dorothy served as Alpha Xi Delta National President from 1986-1988 and as NPC Alternate Delegate from 1974-1991.

The Carol Cope Grant provides an undergraduate leadership experience for a deserving member of Delta Gamma Chapter, University of Nebraska at Kearney.  The grant honors the memory of Carol Schrepel Cope, Nebraska at Kearney ’62, whose philanthropy will continue to enhance the quality of life in Kearney and the state of Nebraska for generations, and whose examples of voluntarism and leadership will forever guide future leaders.

The Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute® is the NIC’s premier interfraternal leadership program. It brings together undergraduate members of fraternal organizations (fraternities, sororities, multi-cultural fraternal groups, local groups) to explore and elevate their leadership in their chapters and communities.

Established in 1957, Alpha Xi Delta Foundation furthers Alpha Xi Delta's purpose of preparing bold, talented women to lead our Fraternity and our world. In addition, the Alpha Xi Delta Foundation creates opportunities for Fraternity members to ensure enduring resources so the Fraternity can fulfill her mission of inspiring women to realize their potential.
