Alpha Xi Delta

Did you know?

1 in 88 children is diagnosed with autism.

1 in 54 boys is diagnosed with autism.

A child is diagnosed with autism every 20 minutes.

This year, more children will be diagnosed with autism than with AIDS, diabetes and pediatric cancer combined.

Since entering into a national partnership with Autism Speaks in April 2009, Alpha Xi Delta has proudly raised more than $800,000 for its philanthropic partner. As the largest autism advocacy and research organization in the world, Autism Speaks is dedicated to funding research into the causes and prevention of autism; finding treatments and a cure for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders; and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families.

“The members of Alpha Xi Delta have embraced our families along with our cause,” said Ann Gibbons, Executive Director, National Capital Area at Autism Speaks.  "Their contribution to research funding is phenomenal.  What strikes parent after parent, however, when they meet the women at our events, is the outpouring of kindness and acceptance towards our children.  Autism can be a very isolating condition, and the Alpha Xis go out of their way to embrace us and our families.  That in itself is priceless."
