Shortly after Alpha Xi Delta’s founding on April 17, 1893, Lewie Strong Taylor created the party favor below. The party favor is in the shape of our beloved Quill and has pink roses resting on the top. It was created on May 11, 1893.

The writing on the back of the party favor contains a quote from poet James Russell Lowell and is written by Frances Cheney. It reads:

“If I were a rose at your window,
Happiest Rose of its crew,
Every blossom I bore would bend inward:
They’d know where the sunshine grew.”
