Many of you have already graduated or are preparing for the big day. Don’t let your senior year be the last time you support a philanthropic cause. Think about it: How many times throughout your college career did you, your Sisters and community come together to support a cause? What did it feel like to come together and make a difference, or to hear the countless thank yous and see the individual smiles of those you helped?
Two weeks ago, we gave you some suggestions on how to stay connected with Alpha Xi Delta and your Sisters post-graduation. This week we want to remind you of the various ways to stay connected to our philanthropic partner, Autism Speaks. Below are five ways to stay connected with Autism Speaks after graduation so you can continue making a difference for those who are affected by autism spectrum disorders.

Continue to support your chapter’s AmaXIng Challenge events. It is easier than you think to support your chapter’s philanthropy events. You can start by fundraising for events and making donations. Help your chapter advertise for the event by telling others about it and posting about the AmaXIng Challenge on your social media outlets. This will not only raise awareness of the event, but promote it amongst other alumnae Sisters too. Remember to update your information with the Fraternity via Exclusively Xi and to “like” your chapter’s Facebook page to ensure you stay connected to your chapter to receive important news and updates regarding philanthropy events.
Volunteer to serve on a Walk Organizing Committee. If you are interested in volunteering your time to serve on an Autism Speaks Walk Organizing Committee, there are many ways for you to get involved and help out. Click here to find a Walk Now for Autism Speaks in your area and learn more about the various volunteer opportunities at your local Autism Speaks chapter.
Sign up to receive e-Speaks, Autism Speaks’ online newsletter. This is a great way to stay informed of autism news reports, legislative updates, scientific developments and charitable events. Click here to read previous Autism Speaks newsletters and sign up for e-Speaks today.
Friend or “like” Autism Speaks on Facebook. This is another way to ensure you receive the latest Autism Speaks news. In addition to “liking” the main Autism Speaks page on Facebook, find your local Autism Speaks office and “like” their Facebook page, too! This will make it easy for you to learn of upcoming walks in and around your area as well as other Autism Speaks events.
Continue to be an ambassador for our philanthropic partner. Autism Speaks’ message is Alpha Xi Delta’s message. By showing our support for Autism Speaks and participating in various philanthropic events, we are showing the world what Alpha Xi Delta is about and what our Sisters can do. Wherever you end up after college, remember that Autism Speaks, and Alpha Xi Delta listens.

One of the most rewarding aspects of joining a Greek organization is our dedication to serving the community and supporting various philanthropic organizations. Throughout your time in Alpha Xi Delta you donated your time and efforts to raising funds and awareness for autism spectrum disorders. Whether it was hosting an AmaXIng Challenge, lighting your campus up blue, distributing blue wrist bands in the quad or selling puzzle pieces, know that you made a difference, and you can continue to do so as your start the next chapter in your life.
